We’re delighted to share that Cora Health has achieved the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) Quality Mark, a nationally recognised accreditation awarded by The Royal College of Radiologists and The College of Radiographers.
The award recognises the quality, safety and effectiveness of our imaging services and is the result of two years of dedication, collaboration and hard work from colleagues across the organisation.
The QSI Quality Mark is the UK’s quality standard for imaging services. To achieve accreditation, organisations undergo a detailed external assessment against a wide range of standards covering patient experience, safety, clinical governance, workforce wellbeing and operational performance.
The achievement reflects the commitment of colleagues working across Cora health.
Warren Foster, Clinical Director, Diagnostics and Surgical, said:
“Achieving the QSI Quality Mark is a fantastic accomplishment and one that reflects the dedication, expertise and commitment of colleagues right across Cora. While our MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray and DEXA teams were central to this achievement, it would not have been possible without the support of colleagues across RMC and PCC, Operations, Integrated Governance, IM&T, Medical Physics partners at St Georges and Addenbrookes and many other teams.
“QSI accreditation recognises the high standards we set for ourselves every day and, most importantly, the safe, effective and compassionate care we provide to patients. My sincere thanks go to everyone who played a part. You should all be extremely proud of what you’ve accomplished.”
The assessment team described Cora as a well-led organisation with strong leadership, robust operational oversight and a positive, patient-centred culture.
Key strengths identified during the assessment included:
- Strong use of data to drive improvement
- Effective patient communication
- Established clinical pathways and governance processes
- Visible and supportive leadership
- A culture where colleagues feel listened to, valued and supported
- A clear commitment to learning and quality improvement
Particularly encouraging was the feedback relating to patient care. Reviewers found that respect, privacy and dignity were embedded in everyday practice and praised the compassionate interactions and communication experienced by patients across our services.
The assessment also identified numerous areas where Cora exceeded the required standards, including leadership, workforce planning, colleague wellbeing, administrative and referral support, clinical safety, equipment management, quality assurance, organisational learning and performance monitoring.
Adele Gilbertson, Diagnostic Services Manager at Norwich, who was involved in the accreditation process, said:
“Achieving QSI accreditation was a significant milestone for me, both professionally and personally. I am proud to have been involved in a process that required commitment, teamwork, attention to detail and a shared focus on maintaining high standards of quality and patient care.
Accreditation was not simply about preparing for an assessment; it encouraged us to embed good practice into our everyday work and take greater ownership of quality and continuous improvement. QSI accreditation represents more than an achievement. It is evidence of the team’s dedication to quality and a foundation on which we can continue to develop and improve.”
A huge thank you and congratulations to all the colleagues who contributed to this achievement. Their hard work, collaboration and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care have been recognised through this nationally respected accreditation.
