Our pain management service is for anyone living with pain that has not been helped by physical therapies and medical intervention. Often people have tried many different treatments with no long-term benefit.
There are various options that our Pain Practitioners will discuss with you.
The decision is yours and they will help you in this process. Options include:
- A group-based, six weeks long pain management programme. This involves people learning together and developing a toolbox of new skills to help reclaim their lives.
- Individual appointments with a clinical specialist pain practitioner or pain trainer for those who (due to time constraints, language barriers or other reasons) find it challenging to work in groups.
- Pain psychology if issues with your mental health are affecting your life and ability to engage in pain management.
- Medication reviews with one of our non-medical prescribers to discuss and optimise your relationship with pain medications
- An online pain management handbook that is found below and you can be signposted to excellent online self-help resources.
- A referral to a specialist pain management service if you need the help of a team of different health professionals under one roof.
If you are living with persistent pain and require help, please ask your GP to refer you to our pain management service.
