Sarah qualified as a physiotherapist in 2001. She specialised in pain management early in her career and completed her MSc Pain Management at Cardiff University in 2008. Sarah worked in a national pain service for 13 years in clinical and leadership roles and has trained extensively in ways of supporting patients to reduce the impact of pain on their ability to live their life.
Sarah’s research interests include psychologically informed approaches to patient care and the relationship between the patient and their treating clinician. This reflects her passion for understanding what matters to people and helping them to make changes to increase their vitality in living. Sarah is a Lecturer with Brunel University London where she teaches pain management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has also served on national committees developing understanding of the management of persistent pain.
