Gemma joined Connect in 2014 after working for the NHS in the Newcastle Hospitals Trust. Gemma qualified as a physiotherapist from Northumbria University in 2012 and prior to that worked as a physiotherapy assistant at South Tyneside District Hospital. She also has a degree in sport rehabilitation.
Gemma works a split role in GP practices in South Tyneside and management where she is responsible for supporting the clinical development of the physiotherapists and helping with the day to day running of the contract. She has recently completed a Non Medical Prescriber course allowing her to prescribe for MSK conditions and have more informed conversations about people’s medications risks and optimising use.
