Mr Chandra Pasapula, MBBS BSc FRCS Orth

Mr Chandra Pasapula qualified as a doctor from St. Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1996. He always had an interest in surgery; he completed his basic surgical rotation at the Kings Hospital training program in London followed by the prestigious Oxford Deanery Higher Specialist Surgical Training Program in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Mr Pasapula has been in the Consultant post at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn since 2007, where he has developed a foot and ankle service including neurological feet, flat feet, and forefoot surgery and diabetic feet. He continues to practice in hip and knee surgery and complex foot and ankle trauma also.

Mr Pasapula covers all aspects of foot and ankle surgery including; high arch, flat feet, bunions surgery, Achilles tendon problems and lesser toe problems. Also, heal pain syndrome, neurology disturbance in feet, inflammatory arthritis, tendoachilles pathology, tendon disorders and genetic conditions of the feet such as arthritis.

MTP Joint Fusion
An MTP Joint Fusion is a surgical procedure to permanently join the big toe’s base with the first long toe bone (metatarsal) to relieve pain from severe arthritis (hallux rigidus) or bunions. This procedure is done under Regional Anaesthetic.

Hallux Valgus (Bunion)
Hallux valgus surgery (bunion surgery) corrects the big toe’s inward drift, aiming to relieve pain by realigning the joint through bone cuts (osteotomies) and soft tissue work, often using screws or pins for fixation, with common techniques like the Scarf and Akin osteotomy.

Mr Christopher Withey FRCPodS BSc (Hons)

Consultant Podiatric Surgeon

Since graduating in 2001, Mr Chris Withey has worked in the NHS specialising in Podiatric Surgery. After completing specialist training at Queen Margaret University Edinburgh and Glasgow Caledonian University, he was awarded his fellowship in Podiatric Surgery from The Royal College of Podiatry (FRCPodS) in 2013.

Later gaining his completion certificate in Podiatric Surgical training, Mr Withey has works as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon within the NHS and private sector. Mr Withey’s NHS practice consists of managing his own caseload of complex diabetic foot surgery and elective foot surgery, as part of the Orthopaedic team.

Alongside his busy NHS practice, Mr Withey runs a private practice offering patients quick direct access for consultations and surgery for the following conditions:

Hallux valgus (bunions), osteoarthritis of the foot, diabetic foot, achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis

Ingrown Toenail
A minor procedure that’s usually done under local anaesthetic. An Ingrown Toenail can be treated using surgical techniques such as a Wedge Excision, Nail Avulsion or Nail Bed Ablation.

Hallux Valgus (Bunion)
Hallux valgus surgery (bunion surgery) corrects the big toe’s inward drift, aiming to relieve pain by realigning the joint through bone cuts (osteotomies) and soft tissue work, often using screws or pins for fixation, with common techniques like the Scarf and Akin osteotomy. An alternative is the Lapidus procedure for hallux valgus, and this is a fusion surgery for the midfoot’s first tarsometatarsal (TMT) joint, typically used for severe bunions or instability (hypermobility) in that joint, correcting the big toe’s alignment by permanently joining the first metatarsal bone with the cuneiform bone using screws or plates to prevent recurrence.

Hammer toe surgery corrects a bent toe joint (usually the middle joint) by realigning bones, tendons, and ligaments, often involving removing a small bone piece, releasing tight tissues, and using pins, wires, or screws (K-wires) to hold the toe straight while it heals.
