Our pain appointments are designed to understand the impact of your pain on you and your life, so we can identify how we may be able to support you.
Treatments such as medication and interventions can form part of pain management plans, but risks and benefits need to be balanced.
A large part of our work supports people to reduce the impact of pain and to increase their ability to do things which matter to them.
You will speak to one of our pain clinicians for 30-60 minutes in a telephone, video or face-to-face appointment.
Before your pain appointment
To prepare for your telephone appointment, please:
- Have an up-to-date list of medications and your medical history to hand.
- Think about any questions or worries you have about your pain or past treatment
- Think about what you have stopped doing or limited due to your pain (this could be activities you do alone or with friends or loved ones)
- Think about what is important to you about your care
