As an ethical business we are fully aware of our responsibilities to our patients, colleagues, and service users, and have a zero tolerance towards any acts of human trafficking and/or modern slavery. We assess the risk of modern slavery and/or human trafficking playing a part in our business as extremely low.
Our Assurance
To mitigate the risks in our business and supply chain, we:
- complete thorough and appropriate pre-employment checks on all our employees and we mandate all agencies we use to do the same, we regularly audit both internal and external processes.
- support our whole workforce to be alert and report any concerns about slavery and/or human trafficking at the earliest opportunity by taking personal responsibility.
- ensure all our employment practices, comply with all relevant laws and regulations and respect Equality, Diversity and Human Rights.
- have robust training, processes and policies relating to the safeguarding of children and adults.
- maintain a detailed procurement policy which sets out the framework and approval levels for selecting suppliers to work with, assessing them on items such as CSR, ISO9001 and Information Governance
- assess each new prospective supplier through our prequalification questionnaire asking them to explicitly confirm their adherence to the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- only trade with suppliers who share our values and have ethics and sustainability as essential prerequisites – we choose our suppliers carefully and build long standing relationships where possible.
- undertake periodic supplier appraisals of existing suppliers to assess their performance
against contract SLAs, quality, and compliance to gain assurance that they continue to be a valued partner.
