Cora Health is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, patients, visitors and any others affected by our working practices. To achieve this Cora Health will ensure that responsibilities under health and safety legislation and associated regulations are met.
We have policies and management structures in place to enable us to identify and manage risks across our business, enabling our employees to take appropriate action to reduce risks and eliminate the likelihood of accidents, injuries and losses. Designated employees have been appointed to be responsible for health and safety to keep the workplace safe; keep welfare procedures under constant review; to liaise with the Health and Safety Executive, wherever necessary; and to keep the organisation and the Board of Directors abreast of new legislations, regulations, British Standards and codes of practice in order to ensure on going compliance with the law.
A safe and healthy working environment is essential for all of our employees, to this end, Cora Health is committed to continuous improvement in health and safety performance. To accomplish this, we will ensure that health and safety is integrated within our core management functions through appropriate and effective policies and procedures, and ensuring that all our employees are equipped to carry out their responsibilities in a safe manner.
Cora Health will ensure resources are available to enable the organisation to conduct its activities safely and risk free and to meet our general duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. At the very least we will:
- Provide and safe and healthy working environment.
- Ensure adequate control of health and safety risks arising from work activities, this includes communication with working partners, and any use of sub-contractors.
- Ensure effective health and safety systems and procedures are in place to safeguard the wellbeing of employees at work.
- Ensure that all employees are competent in the work activities that they are engaged in, providing the required instruction, training, supervision and information as necessary to ensure the health and safety of its employees.
- Continue to consult with and update colleagues at all levels on health and safety matters.
- Provide risk assessments for all tasks where potential hazards and risks are identified with suitable and sufficient controls in place.
- Identify and deal with any health and safety accidents, incidents and concerns appropriately.
Our aim is to have an environment which assures health and safety standards, supporting their continual improvement, and the development of a positive safety culture that promotes personal safety and responsibility, respect for others, and respect for the workplace.
