Cherrelle graduated from the University of Essex with a qualification in pre-registration Physiotherapy MSc in 2011. She initially completed a degree in Sports Therapy in 2009 at London Metropolitan University but soon realised that she wanted to work within the NHS and broaden her approach to that outside of sport.
She went on to complete her core rotations at Southend University Hospital, where she progressed to specialist physiotherapist working in A+E and outpatient orthopaedic services up until 2017. Deciding she needed new challenges she worked at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust as a highly specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, she led a dynamic team, maintained a varied and complex case load and developed a clinical supervision and CPD programme.
In 2019, she returned to Essex applying for a role within Connect’s South West Essex Community Assessment and Triage Service (CATS) as an advanced practice physiotherapist. In this time she progressed to team lead and became joint clinical delivery lead in 2022. She has completed post graduate modules including soft tissue and joint injection therapy and is keen to develop her post graduate knowledge with further study over the next few years. Cherrelle is part of the Mid and South Essex Musculoskeletal stewardship team which aims to improve patient experience and champion value based care for the region.
