This service offers self-referral via PhysioNow for people aged 18 years or over.
Support with making a referral
Please note: Self-referral is available for Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions only. Do not proceed with a self-referral if you are:
- A paediatric patient (under 18 years of age)
- Seeking help for foot or podiatry-related problems
- Requiring women’s health or pelvic health services
- Experiencing problems related to a recent fracture
- Experiencing problems related to a recent operation or surgery
If any of the above apply to you, please contact your GP or healthcare professional, who can assess your needs and arrange an appropriate professional referral if required.
If you want to make a self-referral but are unable to complete a self-assessment online, or if you have a question about our service, you can call us on 01865 634 336.
A family or friend can refer you to the service if you are unable to do so. They will need to provide your name, date of birth, address and NHS number.

In some cases a GP will make a referral on your behalf. When we receive a GP referral the information provided is reviewed by one of our clinical team – this is known as clinical triage. Once triage is complete, we’ll contact you to schedule an appointment. This could a text message with a link to book an appointment for yourself, a phone call to arrange an appointment, or a letter to advise you that we have passed your referral onto another specialist service (e.g. the hospital orthopaedic team).
